What is a Pavé Diamond?
Pavé diamonds are a setting style where numerous small diamonds are set closely together, creating a continuous, sparkling surface. The term "pavé" comes from the French word for "paved" or "cobblestone," reflecting the appearance of the setting. The diamonds colors used in pavé are often ranging from champagne, blue green, to gray, giving a look of vintage jewelry from the Art Deco Era.
How we use Pavé Diamond
There are many options of Pavé Diamond jewelry out there. What we do here at 314 studio is that we use Pavé Diamond charms made in India, discard all the “loops” off the charm, and treat each charm as a precious stone itself. We use bezels in fine silver or 14k yellow gold, and create frames around them in sterling silver wire. Necklace, Brooch, and Earrings designs are mostly one of a kind. (No two are the same!) Then the silver part is oxidized to blackened finish, and to be highlighted silver and gold for contrasting dramatic results.
