This April marks 24 years of 314studio, and even writing that feels a little unreal. I still remember being 25 years old at my very first show in Newton, Massachusetts — nervous, hopeful, and standing behind a borrowed, mismatched set of tables. I had to borrow $400 just to pay the booth fee, but I arrived with a table full of pieces I believed in: fun, colorful sterling‑silver designs, bright shapes, and the kind of creative energy you only have when everything feels possible.
I didn’t know if anyone would stop. I didn’t know if anyone would buy. But people did — they picked up the pieces, smiled, asked questions, and connected. That tiny spark was enough to keep me going.
Twenty‑four years later, 314studio is still a tiny handmade business, still rooted in thoughtful, intentional creation. My work has evolved, my techniques have deepened, and through the ups and downs of the economy, wild metal price surges, a pandemic, and raising a child, I’m somehow still here — and a little smarter, more efficient, and even learning to be more tech‑savvy along the way.
Running a small studio has meant wearing every hat: artist, photographer, packer, accountant, booth builder, problem solver. It has meant trusting my hands, trusting the process, and trusting that there will always be people who value things made with care.
When I look back at those early pieces, I feel a tenderness for that younger version of me. She didn’t know where this would lead — she just knew she wanted to make things and share them.
And now, 24 years later, I’m still doing exactly that.
To celebrate this milestone, I’m hosting a 24th Anniversary Sale: 20% off almost everything from April 24–27 with code Happy24th. It’s my way of saying thank you for being part of this journey — whether you’ve been with me since those early days or found me just recently.
Here’s to 24 years — and to whatever comes next.
