Dodecahedron Necklace 20"

Sterling silver sheet, laser cut, folded, soldered and assembled in the form of dodecahedron.  

Oxidized and highlighted.

Connected with 21 gauge sterling silver wire and sterling silver beads.

A simple hook clasp for a continuous look. 

This is my latest experimentation of the forms and techniques to create a mathematical form. The Elegant and sophisticated shape was achieved by forming each bead from two halves of laser cut multi-pentagon shapes with circular motif inside.

After experimenting with paper mock-ups, I enjoy creating something new in sterling silver that has a completely different weight and look than a paper version.

Result is a lightweight but substantial three-dimensional form with highlighted facets to emphasize on two-dimensional shapes.
